Volunteers are the Heart
of the Old Davie School
The Old Davie School looks for the dedication and skills of invaluable volunteers for a variety of opportunities.
- Step Back in Time School Program: TUESDAY THROUGH FRIDAY 9:30-12:30
Make history come alive for students as a part of the Step Back in Time School program! New volunteers will shadow the program and receive training before leading activities such as writing with dip pens in the 1920s Classroom, touring the exhibits, washing laundry at the Pioneer House, and making butter or squeezing fresh orange juice. - Museum & Historic Houses Docent: AS SCHEDULED
Learn the story of the Davie School and share with others! Tours of the museum and historic houses are scheduled throughout the week and docents take guests through the last 100 years and more of the town, school, and western Broward! New volunteers will receive training before leading guided tours. - Archives & Collections
Archives & Collections Volunteers meet weekly to maintain the archive & collections and accession new items, as well as other vital tasks to ensure ongoing accessibility for community research. - Administrative Assistance & Special Events
Assist with different office tasks or jump in for a special event! Event Day Volunteers help with the event activities, check-in, set-up and breakdown. Special Events are held throughout the year, like Old Davie Christmas, Orange Blossom Festival and Summerween! - Youth Volunteers
High School Volunteers assist with special events and the Time Travelers Club Summertime Program! Young Pioneers welcomes middle-school grades for a monthly meeting and work together on a museum project. Students can earn their required volunteer hours for graduation!
